Christmas Things

My Christmas list this year

christmas list

Here are a few items from my Christmas list (these are the big-ticket items from the lists for both sets of parents, just FYI) that I thought you would be interested in seeing. We had to do our list early this year because for the second time ever, we are splitting Thanksgiving and Christmas between our families. Last year was a Jackson Christmas, this year it’s Gould. We tried to see both families for both holidays the previous few years and it was not working out, Frank! (That’s a new saying I just made up.) Thanksgiving in Roanoke or Nags Head, Christmas in Virginia or Georgia – can’t really do both! Especially because we have to be at the hotel for our winter conference the day after Christmas. Which really stinks, but I’ve (mostly) made my peace with it. Onward.

LL Bean Wicked Good Slippers – I had these for several years (yes, men’s), because I liked Whit’s so much, and at that point they didn’t make the same ones in women’s. The smallest men’s size they had was about one size too big for me, so I made them work. Then, this spring I discovered the incredulously awesome return policy that LL Bean has. Long story short, I exchanged my slippers and my falling-apart rain jacket, bought a new rain jacket with the money because winter wasn’t coming up anytime soon, and with the money leftover I bought a cozy fleece. So now I’m getting new slippers for Christmas, that are women’s, in the right size. I’m excited because they look soooo cozy! I loved the shearling lining of the other ones, and know these will be fabulous!

Land’s End Heavenly Fleece EZ Touch Gloves – I live in the arctic (couldn’t see the ground for a month solid this winter, and it snowed tonight), and whether or not we move next year, we’ll be living somewhere cold. These gloves look super soft and warm, and you can actually use your phone while you wear them. And they’re cute! Win, win, win.

Arbonne Sunset Blush – I have about 5% left of my current blush (Arbonne Dusty Rose), and that’s not an exaggeration. Time for a new one! I love this subtle peachy pink.

Anthropologie Atom Art Bowls – Sad story. I got a set of these bowls, in a different pattern, for Christmas last year. I LOVE them. They’re exactly the style I want my kitchen (and home) to have. Over the course of the year, I’ve broken not just one, but two of them! Out of four! Whit was able to glue one of them back together, because it broke perfectly in half, but the other is lost. I’d like to get a few more in this other pattern so I can use them frequently again.

Land’s End Hillary Tall Snow Boots – Like I said, the Pennsylvania arctic. Waterproofing is necessary, and I love the style of these – so classic! One bonus is that they are side-zip!! So you don’t have to tie and untie them every time. So great when you want to just come inside and throw your slippers on as fast as you can!

J.Crew Sweater – I had wanted this one, but hadn’t officially decided and sent my list to Mom J yet. I kept checking the website to make sure they still had it. Of course, as fate would have it, as soon as she tried to buy it it sold out. Major bummer. I hope to get this one instead. I love it too, but it’s not as “completely me” as the geometric one.

What’s on your list?
