A new look!

For a few years on and off I have brainstormed what my “brand” would look like if I actually had a design of my own. Earlier this year, I finally changed the name of my blog to reflect the style and aesthetic I am hoping to achieve in this space.

This summer, I decided I should go ahead with pursuing a design for my blog, too! I contacted my friend Cynthia, who used to work for Cru when I was a student at Virginia Tech. She is a mom of two adorable toddlers, and recently she has been growing her talent of hand lettering. I absolutely love her work, and was thrilled that she wanted to collaborate with me.

With just a little direction from me, she came up with the header design and logo that now reside at the top of my blog. I adore what she came up with, and was so impressed that she designed something that fits so perfectly what I was imagining.

I love the whimsical look, the colors, style of the font, and that she even included two animals that give off a very “me” jungle-y vibe. I wanted my header image to give the impression that this is a fun, creative space, but not so “out there” that you can’t easily relate to the things I say. I think and hope that the image Cynthia created says just that.
