Questions: Best Friend

This is a series where I ask a question, and you (and I) have to answer it.

questions

Do you have a best friend? If so, how do you keep in touch?

Oof, this is a hard one for me. I would say that my two best friends currently (and will hopefully forever be!) my husband and my mom. But, I don’t think I’ve really had a best girlfriend (who isn’t my mom!) since around the time that I got married. I do have best friends, whom I love and who understand me and who know me, but I don’t talk to or see any of them with enough frequency that they can keep up with what’s going on in my life on daily basis. I also have good friends, who I see every now and then and enjoy hanging out with. But I don’t think I really have a best friend right now.

That’s hard for me to admit, because I would love more than almost anything to have a best friend! The best friend thing to me is that you know what’s going on in each other’s lives, so that when you see each other you can explain the new situation, however big or small, without having to play catch-up. Don’t get me wrong, I love to play catch-up and get all the major highlights and details in one giant, deep conversation, but it would be nice to more casually live life with the person who knows you in and out, too.

Who is your best friend? Do you have any tips on making or staying best friends? Do you want to be my best friend? Lol 🙂

I love you honey! I remember when I had been married for about 5 years and realized I no longer had a best girl friend that I shared with every day … it was sad. BUT many, many wonderful besties have come since then. This too shall pass .. I feel certain! In the meantime there’s always Mom!!! ❤
