Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups – TREASURE

Trader-Joes-Dark-Chocolate-Peanut-Butter-Cups1

Even though they’re mini, the ratio of chocolate to peanut butter is right on. The sweetness of the chocolate is just right – I love the mysterious nature of the dark flavor. And the peanut butter is a perfectly savory match to balance out the rich chocolate. I vow to never buy a high-fructose corn syrup, fake chocolate Reese’s Cup again. The best part is – they’re only a dollar!!

Glutino Gluten-Free Toaster Pastries – TREASURE

It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten a Pop-Tart, but these Toaster Pastries took me back to those rushed mornings in high school when I grabbed a strawberry Pop-Tart for breakfast at school. I loved everything about these strawberry pastries, except the price tag. If you can find them on sale, they are sure to be a favorite treat every once in awhile! They are packaged individually, so you don’t have to worry about that half-eaten pastry crumbling in your backpack (or wait, maybe that was just high school). The flavor was SO sweet, but perfectly toned down with the unfrosted outside. They are best eaten slowly, so you can savor filling. Highly recommend!

Trader Joe’s Apple & Strawberry Bar -TREASURE

I picked this up at the counter – which I never let myself do – because I was ravenous after a trip to Ikea. (I had brought along Almond Thins to snack on but they were stale – gross.) I bit into it and it was not what I was expecting! It tasted JUST like the gluten-free pastries from above. The texture was great – soft and chewy but not so much that you have to roll it over in your mouth again and again. I looked at the ingredients and was shocked that it was ONLY apples and strawberries. I hope to make these a staple!

Pre-Packaged Live G-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies – TREASURE

IMG_2601Aldi recently came out with this awesome gluten-free brand, Live G Free, and has been adding more and more tantalizing products. I bought this package of cookies for a weekend at the lake, because when I go on vacation there’s nothing I want more than a warm chocolate chip cookie, salty from the beach. I was shocked at how delicious these were, because I’ve had my share of not-so-great gluten-free desserts. These reminded me perfectly of Chips Ahoy, and were a perfect gluten-free substitute.

No trash this week! Only good things to promote. Grab yourself one of these yummy products, if you’re in the mood!

  1. I haven’t been into an Aldi yet, but they’re opening one back home soon, so I guess I can stop by next time I’m in town to see what all the fuss is about! People are serious about Aldi when I hear about it!
