This is a series where I ask a question, and you (and I) have to answer it.
What, to you, is the most difficult part of interacting with other adults?
For me, it’s the formality. You have to go through a certain process with people, even your close friends. You can’t just say exactly what you think, because you are aware that other people have a different life experience than yourself and may take what you mean personally or be offended. Adult conversation isn’t as reckless as childhood conversation. This is more polite and respectful, but often more boring. I wish you didn’t have to think so hard about what to say when talking to other adults.
What do you think?
